we need to be way more understanding of our immigrant parents. esp those who weren't afforded the luxury of educations. I see a lot of people lash out at their parents for saying things that can be insensitive. 1/4
yes, i absolutely think we need to educate our moms and dads about social justice issues, etc. but i'm not gonna chew them out if they don't understand the phrase "toxic masculinity." there's a level of wokeness that comes with privilege. 2/4
parents were tryna survive in the u.s. and that's really tough if you don't know the language, didn't go to college, don't have an asian community around to help. pops spends 12 hrs/day behind a wok. understanding everyone else's struggles wasn't exactly a priority. 3/4

When I was 6 years old, my sister and I would hold "town hall meetings" in front of our stuffed animals and keep them abreast of all the household news.

bc fk playing with barbies.
all my stuffed animals were named after world figures I really admired.

My favorite was a cow dragon I named Nelson Mandela. I brought Nelson to college with me because he had to see me really make it lol.
of course hideki (matsui), my lil fuzzy teddy bear, tried to help me out with my econ class but I still got a D- . I'm so embarrassed i failed in front of hideki matsui.

Stoicism is, of course, a philosophy, a way of thinking about and looking at the world, with its origins in Ancient Greece. The first Stoic thinkers appeared about 300 years before the birth of Christ, in Athens, centred on the ‘Stoa’, or porch of the Agora. /2
It’s important to note that the Stoic school of thought in Ancient Greece was quite different to the Stoicism we hear talked about today. It wasn’t just a way of working through our thoughts - it entailed a cohesive way of explaining reality, down to the physical phenomena. /3

The orders include the news that Texas has been granted 10 minutes of argument time in Gamble v US, the case over the “separate sovereign” doctrine. The arguments also have been increased to provide for a total of 80 minutes of arguments. Background: google.com/amp/www.scotus…
Also, a dissent from denial of cert from Gorsuch, joined by Sotomayor. (I don’t think we’ve ever seen *that* before today!) The two want the court to clarify a 2012 decision regarding the Confrontation Clause and forensic evidence. Here’s the 2012 case: supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/…

Contained within @jsolomonReports bombshell a few weeks ago we learned there were as many as 4 FBI Russia related investigations in the fall of 2016. One was crossfire hurricane, another mystery one was named "dragon".
