NT! In the political arena of today, there is an increasing "war" of words between the Right and the Left, primarily caused by the ever more extreme positions that the Left has openly taken. They have always held these views, but masked that fact.
Until now. The Democrat Party is no longer the party of the late Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson, Harry S. Truman, Hubert Humphrey, and especially JFK ... even Ted Kennedy, once known as the "Lion of the Senate".
In years past, the ultra fringe Left operated in the shadows, sowing discord when they could, infiltrating our centers of higher education after having led the anti-war protests in the late 1960's and early 1970's, slowly working their way up.
The earlier Democrats I mentioned always sincerely, I believe, worked toward trying to help people who were at a disadvantage (although *how* they did that I disagree with), and sincerely loved this country.
They wanted to do what was right for the nation, putting country above party for the most part, but that isn't what we see today. What we are seeing today is the elitist Left on a power grab of unprecedented scope.
They lust after power for the sole purpose of controlling every aspect of our life, from what kind of cars we can drive, what jobs we can have, to what we eat, and what utensils we use to eat and drink with. Even toilet paper now. Everything.
They want conformity from *everyone*, not just their fellow travelers. To have total control over what we do gives them ultimate power, and that's what the crave most of all. Power.
When Trump won in 2016, the Leftists went into shock, then denial, then rage, which we've all seen, because his victory over HRC deprived them of that power they thought they were going to have *when*, not *if*, she won.
They convinced themselves that it was in the bag, man! There was NO WAY that reality TV show guy could *possibly* win, and when he did, that sent the radical Left over the edge.
They wanted revenge, and it didn't matter to them any more *how* they got it. Whether through out right falsehoods, to violence, they wanted to "get Trump" by any means necessary.
And so, the mask that had been so carefully, secretly kept in place, was forcefully ripped from their faces, exposing their true nature to the American people. Most of us on the Right who knew the Left had been warning that this would happen.
And those of us who have been sounding the alarm have been ridiculed, accused of this ism and that ism, all to discredit those who've been sounding the alarm, in order to silence us.
Which brings me to this. Many of our neighbors are registered Democrats, or at least lean that way, but for the most part are *not* a party to the extreme far Left. They're regular people, like most of us.
They may disagree with us on *how* to solve the problems we face as a nation, but the end goal of making things better for everyone *usually* aligns with our desires. The only *real* difference is the process to achieve those goals.
When you see me "rail" against the Left, it's against the *extremists* who don't share in love of country, because the extreme Left hates our country, and want to see it fail.
I don't hate my neighbors who may be registered Democrats. Most are actually good people who care about their fellow citizens, about family values, the education of their children, taking care of the elderly. Pet owners. Just like us.
They also root for the same sports teams. Like us. They have bar-be-ques. Like us. They go to church. Like us. They attend school functions that their kids are a part of, watch the high school football games. Just like us.
Where we differ most often is in the world of politics, and their opinions on where we need to go as a nation. And that's ok! There is never one single solution to any problem, which is why throughout our history we've had to compromise to get stuff done.
We must keep all of this in mind as the power politics, both locally and nationally, play out. We need to convince our neighbors that we have better ideas on how to get things done and help them see that, but we have to listen to them as well.
If we don't listen to each other, if we constantly shout at each other, we will never heal the divide in our country, which is the worst I have seen in my life time. We need to put aside our differences, we average folks, and find solutions.
Having said that, we cannot stop in our fight to confront the extreme Leftists trying to take over our country. We must continue to speak up, to counter their power grab. But we must do it peacefully. At the ballot box.
And by convincing our Democrat neighbors to #WalkAway and join us in the fight to correct the course the extreme Left is trying to take us. If we fail in this, if we falter, if we give up ... I see blood flowing in our streets, as our Nation falls.
We cannot, *must* not fail in this! We must all stand together, or surely we will all fall. I for one, will *always* stand against the tyranny some would try to impose upon us, as it is better to stand free, than kneel in chains.
