Today, I spoke to a leave voter that couldn't wait to get out. He was 70, a retired businessman in the cosmetics industry who traded world-wide, & didn't like the EU.
With EU regulations on cosmetics safety being amongst the toughest in the world, I can imagine why.

I asked him to look at what Patrick Minford said would happen to our manufacturing industry & agriculture (he'd not heard of Minford, nor his expectations).
His wife promised that she would make sure he did.

Another man's tale was heartbreaking, & I honestly don't know how he copes - I know that I would be a wreck.
His wife is Spanish, & has lived in the UK for more years than she lived in Spain. She sees the UK as home.
They visit her parents every year, but Spain isn't home.

Their children (dual British & Spanish nationals) were too young to vote in the referendum, & of course, his wife was denied a vote.
I asked him what his wife was doing about getting settled status, & he said "nothing".

It seemed to me that it was a mixture of "why the bloody hell should I? I've been working here & paying taxes for 25yrs!" (a view I sympathise with) & "I don't know what's going to happen" (a view I can understand)
I sympathised, obviously, but then I asked him what he did.

His customers are asking him what will happen, but of course he has no clue, because the govt can't give a straight answer.
Some of his customers are leaving the UK, & he's trying to work out how to keep them as customers.

I really don't know how he keeps it together. I know that I would be in deep depression.
However ... it's stories like this that keep me focussed on fighting this omnishambles.
We have to keep strong. We have to keep fighting.
This is not just. This is not right.
