#Tejas Is mass production possible.
👉GOI has given order for 40 Tejas MK 1. Some 12 odd have been delivered.
👉Sadly due to non availability of dedicated production line n also not sure of the progress of development of Tejas the initial production rate was very slow.
👉In fact till 2016 only 3 of the initial 20 were delivered
👉GOI sensing the urgency of depleting squadron strength of IAF got into the act
👉GOI sanctioned 1238 cr for errection of a new assembly line having capacity to produce 8 aircraft/year
👉HAL also reactivated some of its old production lines. From 2019 its production capacity will increase to 8/yr n in 2019-20 it will go up to 16/yr
👉Just a forthnight ago HAL got the FOC for Tejas MK 1
👉HAL has order for 83 MK 1A & IAF has shown interest for 201 Tejas MK 2
👉It is important to understand all variety of Tejas will be using the same assembly lines
👉In 2017 than HAL Chairman S Raju has said in an interview with the freeing of trainer production they can deliver 24/yr provided the vendors speed up production
Link of said interview
rediff.com/news/report/ha…
👉As per HAL target 40 MK 1+ 83 MK 1A i.e. 123 jets will be delivered upto 2023-24 keeping 16/yr target
👉Tejas MK 2 which is at design stage is expected to take first flight in 2023 n production start by 2025
👉In the meantime GOI is floating a tender for 110 fighter jet to replace MIG 21/MIG 27. The tender n evaluation process will take atleast 2 yrs. It will be Make in India so another 2-3 yrs for raising production line.
👉Even if they deliver 24/yr it will take another 5 yrs, 2028
👉Point to remember the fighter we want to acquire has req at par with Tejas MK 1A
👉Now going back to what HAL Chairman said, they can produce 24 provided vendors speed up production
idrw.org/can-produce-24…
👉GOI has told HAL to be a integrator with major components developed by vendors. HAL have 5 layers of vendors. They produce 69% of parts
👉This is where GOI role comes in. GOI have funded HAL for erection of new line because it is govt owned but private players find it difficult
to fund expansion with low volume order
👉GOI must step in to help the vendors with some soft loan or tax holiday. Can it, should it. Yes they should because there r examples of past
👉Maruti n Nano was given land with its vendor in Gujrat. Facility for both was extended to its
vendor also.
👉Just recently Kiya Motors S Korea was given land at concessional rate in AP, same facility extended to its vendors 100's odd.
👉For development of IT sector in India all types of tax holiday was given
👉My request is on the same line facilities should be extended to HAL n all its 550 vendors to increase the production capacity to atleast 50/yr
👉Point to be noted in Rafale deal the cost involves development cost. Same logic can be used for Tejas vendors
👉If we have developed a quality product why shouldn't we produce it in bulk
👉If we take cost of erection of one production line as 2000 cr (including vendors. Four lines producing 36/yr willc cost only 8-10K, nothing for size of Indian economy
👉Even if we start now n it takes 3 yrs to develop this capacity from 2022 it can produce 2 sq/yr i.e. 12 sq by 2028.
👉Some will say we don't require this much, it will lead to overcapacity
👉Third rate F 7 of China has sold 2450 units till date. Majority of it r in phase out
conditions.
👉Bangladesh, Myanmar r looking for F 7 replacement, so r others
👉There is a huge market open, lets grab it. This is our moment, think beyond the normal
👉Take risk. Our status in the world also depends how can we arm our friends provide them protection.
👉Even if we mass produce now but with devopment of more lethal models we can sale our used models to small countries.
👉So my suggestion to GOI will be cancel MMCRA 2.0 n fully concentrate on mass production n development of Tejas.
👉PM Modi should include Tejas development in
monthly Pragati feedback system n also a dyanamic minster n officer team should be tasked to monitor development/production of it.
👉A very big military industrial complex can develop due to this n money n experience earned thro it can lead to development of more advance models
👉Till we achieve self reliance in defence we will be subjected to foreign pressure n can't have completly independent foreign policy.
👉This expansion of production capacity to 48-50 ill be useful when we start production of 201 Tejas MK 2 model which now comes in medium weight category
👉After it will be AMCA. So it will be worth putting initial capital.
👉India should dream of producing 1000 Tejas, flooding
all continents.
👉This thread is prepared with the whole intention to create a patriotic pressure group to support a genuine quality Indian product
👉In next 15 days all global lobbies with their Indian dalals will jump in to push their fighter jets for IAF citing MIG 21 crash.
👉Thanks for reading such a long thread 🙏🙏
