This is an incredible piece by @SokolAdam on moderating a comment section on a site much like Breitbart.

These sections are havens for racists, Nazis and conspiracy theorists which serve only to whip people up.

Breitbart seems to barely moderate theirs, likely for that reason.

It was on Breitbart’s @disqus-powered comment section that, despite clear rules against it, my son got threatened at our synagogue, whose address was also published, and Breitbart (as well as @disqus) refused to take it down for five days.

And on Daily Caller’s @disqus comment section, I got multiple requests for my address as well as direct anti-Semitic threats.

In over 2 years of asking, @disqus has not taken any responsibility for these, or any other of the virulently racist, anti-Semitic comments on their platform, even if they are not moderated and neither has their parent company @ZetaGlobal.

Truly, there’s almost no other company that has actively given a larger voice to the worst elements on the Internet than @disqus.

They are absolutely shameless.
