JUST IN: Michael Bloomberg is out. Former NY mayor said he won’t run for 2020 Democratic nomination. Big surprise - he donated $100m+ in midterms and all signs were he was gearing up.
On both policy (Dem centre ground much to the Left on health care, economy vs Clinton campaign) and change moment (record female, BME candidates, post-MeToo era) the political currents were moving against Bloomberg for the primary.
That’s two big names confirmed as out in the last 24 hours, Clinton and Bloomberg. All eyes now on Joe Biden. He’s topping the polls despite no decision yet. First debate in June.
Blomberg says in his statement he would beat Trump but isn't sure he'd make it out of the Dem primary.

"I am clear-eyed about the difficulty of winning the Democratic nomination in such a crowded field."
