Let's talk about "things" for a second. Ever notice how many things you have to do? Things don't stop. Finish one thing. On to the next thing.

Finish all your things on Friday? Great, on Monday -- More things. Except now you're doing other people's things.
You have your things, and things that other people gave to you because guess what, they have too many things. So, you're now holding on to their things!!

And what ends up happening is things don't get done because there are simply too many damn things to do.
So now we try to prioritize things. We have work things. Around the house things. Friends and family things.

Return that damn coffee maker thing. Call back your friend you haven't spoken to in 2 years thing. "What in the world is John's problem, let me talk to him" thing.
Too many things. I want less things. The problem is. I'm literally doing more things with the hope that I have less things to do later. It's the exact opposite of procrastination.

BUT -- If I do less things now, my fear is that I will have no things to do. So I do the opposite.
I start asking other people for their things. Don't worry Jessica, I'll take your thing. And everyone is happy when other people take their things. Except, of course, when they need things to do.

The end.
@jasonfried please help. how do you do less things. what's the secret.
@noahkagan I feel like you've struggled with this. Do you still have a things problem or do you do fewer things now. please share secrets thanks.
