I’m immediately left wondering if Custom Audiences could be used to circumvent these new ad targeting restrictions that seek to limit discrimination? What if shady advertisers make their own discriminatory lists and upload them to match to Facebook users for direct targeting?
I recall getting into it with Benedict Evans about this. I argued that Facebook should limit targeting options to prevent discrimination. That’s when I got blocked. Almost everyone has a story of getting blocked by Evans. LOL.

The “discovery” in this case was significant. Even if I (we all) lose, the consolation prize (besides an eye-watering legal costs bill) is knowing that I now have over 2000 pages of legal documents chronicling the twilight of Cambridge Analytica.
Over the past year, I wrote a few pieces explaining why I’m even doing this crazy risky thing in the public interest. I appreciated today that if I hadn’t gone for it, no one else would have had the standing to scrutinize and stop this weird wind-down. bostonreview.net/law-justice-da…

Update from today’s hearing in UK challenging the liquidation of Cambridge Analytica: Judgement reserved. Stay tuned.
It gets lost in technicalities but this pending decision is pivotal.

If I lose, it means SCL/CA vanishes and crucial questions may never be answered. And I’m on the hook personally for costs.

If I win, then the truth about our data lives on to see the light of day.

We wait.
A remarkable moment in today’s court hearing was when defendants could not discuss details about SCL Insights Ltd with court, the only remaining company that absorbed SCL Group’s assets. They couldn’t discuss SCL Insights because of active investigations, including in the USA.

So I shall list out EVM research points here, so that anyone who wants to investigate & put up the fight to #BanDigitalElections can do so. Few persons or orgs may or may not be able to save country. Whole country must save itself. Many heads better than one! Release the Kraken!
1) Establish your case how there can be no election integrity,no genuine elections, unless elections are free & fair, transparent & accountable to all stakeholders including layman citizens. There are reputed international democracy promoting orgs, treaties, publications on this.
