Google paid to put fake news about me on Red State. Its in-house lobbyist then pushed the fabricated story to Capitol Hill staff in order to undermine my critiques of Google’s antitrust violations.

Google claims to take the problem of "fake news" on their platforms seriously but Wired reports that they are actually paying for fake news to be written about competitors 1/250th their size.
Google apparently paid a PR firm to draft "news stories" under a pseudonym and place them on conservative websites. This is Fake News in the most literal sense. No wonder they are so bad at policing something they participate in.
Google lies by saying they are transparent about all the policy work they pay for but they fund a variety of front groups like CCIA, GMU, CLS strategies etc etc etc to push their agenda, but this is the most blatant example to date of using actual disinformation tactics.
The Red State account’s creation / first hit piece on me came days after this tweet thread praising @cduhigg piece & and pointing out how Google’s army of shillbots kicks into high gear anytime “antitrust” is brought up:
.@nitashatiku’s piece also notes many of the same characters came off the sidelines to throw water on @ewarren last week.
