trunking is like "oh i'm SORry, you didn't TELL me you wanted VLAN 180 to go to the rest of the company" while you're shooting steam from your ears and trying not to scream "WHAT DID YOU THINK I MADE IT FOR, DECORATION?"
i haven't seen a switch with a feature to define a port as a "virtual stacking port" or something, so it just implicitly gets any VLAN you don't block. i feel like that's probably a thing and i just haven't worked at a level high enough to know about it
