There's been a precipitous decline in the quality of internet trollery since I started writing 18 years ago, and I'm starting a campaign to restore trolling to the high quality America used to be famous for.

Thinking the hashtag should be #TrollBetter, but am open to suggestions
Look, I know it's tough out there. New communications technologies mean everyone needs to ramp up their output just to maintain market share in this fast-growing sector.
But that's no excuse for just typing out the first slapdash bit of sarcasm that slips into your head. You're not in seventh grade any more, and that's not going to cut it. In a crowded marketplace, what stands out--what endures--is quality craftsmanship.
You're an artisan, and you have an obligation to yourself and to your craft. So stop chasing volume with disposable trollery that could have been cranked out by the less verbally adept denizens of your local middle school. Take a minute, and make each troll count.
