Massachusetts has the 4th, 7th, 9th, and 10th ranked private universities in terms of endowment per student. Public higher ed funding is in the bottom 10% on a per student basis. And so UMass is desperate. They need help. insidehighered.com/blogs/just-vis…
That's Harvard, Amherst, Williams, and MIT, and they could survive nicely without the lavish tax subsidies they receive from the government. Massachusetts more than any other state could benefit from reconsidering how favorably these schools are treated.
Harvard, Amherst, Williams, and MIT are not going to leave Massachusetts for other states if they have a slightly less advantageous deal than has been historically true. Those schools will also benefit from a healthy public higher ed ecosystem.

Massachusetts is a microcosm for all public higher ed. State starves institutions. Institutions feel forced to take big swings at increasing revenue, accruing debt and risking entire future. It's not sustainable. Stop it, before it's too late. insidehighered.com/blogs/just-vis…
Maybe there is room for a couple more players in the national online university space. (I doubt it.) Even if there is, there certainly isn't room for all those institutions eyeing that space as a route towards sustainability. Taking on debt for this kind of long shot is foolish.
States need to examine the decades of favorable treatment they've given private institutions. This is particularly true in Massachusetts. The state is subsidizing Harvard, MIT, Amherst with millions of $'s of public money. Why not redress that historical imbalance?

Some people have shown interest once again in Benghazi, to me this tragedy is still very important. I'm not talking about Susan Rice hitting the Sunday Morning circuit lying about the attack, however it is important but all the things leading up to Benghazi, & why they were there
On July 25, 2012 Taliban fighters in Kunar province Afghanistan successfully targeted a US Army CH-47 helicopter with a new generation Stinger missile. The terrorists didn't properly arm the missile, so it didn't explode, it only downed the chopper. #Benghazi
The next day, an EOD team arrived to pick through the wreckage and found unexploded pieces of a missile casing that could only belong to a new generation Stinger missile. Lodged in the right nacelle, they found one fragment that contained an entire serial number.

Michigan’s results are a solid microcosm of where we are in the Trump era. Short version: In 2016, Trump won big margins in working-class areas that had supported Obama. Hillary’s margins in affluent areas and urban areas were underwhelming. (thread)
2) Last night, Dems narrowed the margins in working-class areas, ran up huge margins in affluent and urban areas. Women and people of color were in full revolt.
3) Meanwhile, working class people were underwhelmed by the reality of Trump’s economic agenda, as opposed to the rhetoric.

Okay all, let's talk about this real quick and it's implications for the so-called #SocialJusticeStatement .

Let's start by noting that the name "Stan Hannon" is a misspelling.

As can be seen at this link (fbcbelleview.org/stan-hannan-se…) his name is, in fact, Stan *Hannan* (thread)
First, let's talk about Stan's biography a bit.

The scant details given on the church website about his military service (fbcbelleview.org/stan-hannan-se…) along with what @JustinPetersMin has said give us enough info to research exactly what Stan's role was in the Rhodesian military.
Also, real quick shout out to @C_Stroop and @anxiousoracle for their work researching this.

@anxiousoracle did most of the legwork on the research front, and I am building off that work here.

Now, back to our friend Pastor Stan.
