Fildebrandt says he did have a meeting with the Kenney campaign in July 2017 to run as a dark horse candidate, but he wasn't the right person in the end. It was no secret I was a Kenney supporter at the time, Filde says. #ableg
It was at The Keg in Calgary, "I remember it clearly, I had a medium rare ribeye steak," Filde says. He says it was a meeting with Kenney, but in the end they resolved he would just hint about running. #ableg
Fildebrandt says there was also a meeting with the folks who became Callaway's campaign team, but Filde decided he wasn't going to run. The legion of lies about this is what Kenney needs to apologize for, he says. #ableg
"I wasn't interested in running a hit job campaign," Fildebrandt says, and he didn't want to solely be the attack dog any more. Kenney wanted a candidate who would say what they thought - which I am willing to do, but I want that on my terms, Filde adds. #ableg
Fildebrandt says "I'll be fair to Jason Kenney here, even if he's not fair to others," discussions between he and Kenney never got to money about who would finance a hit job campaign. Reiterates he just didn't want to be the attack dog any more #ableg
"There's a lot of bullshit in politics, most of which the public doesn't see, and I have an aversion to that," Fildebrandt says. #ableg

Filde says he's not talked to Wayne Anderson about becoming part of the FCP, but he knows he's unhappy. Adds that he thinks Anderson is brave to speak out against Kenney as a sitting MLA. #ableg

Fildebrandt says Jason Nixon worked hard to sow the seeds of distrust between himself and Brian Jean. He doesn't regret the choices he made at the time, but looking back he's not so sure. As for Kenney, "I'm not going to be another clapping seal for him in the caucus." #ableg
Fildebrandt says FCP will only run candidates in seats where they have a real chance. As for this whole Kenney-Callaway thing impacting the election, he would prefer it to be about policy but tories have nobody to blame but themselves if this becomes about scandal. #ableg
