Looking for the latest climate information on a specific topic or for a certain region? There are many fantastic webinar series (both live and recorded) that are free and available! Here are four of my favourites (see thread):
1/ The regional US Climate Science Adaptation Centers (I'm part of the South Central one!) have a webinar series called "Science You Can Use". It focuses on ecosystems, forests, birds, fish, and more. Sign up for live events + view past recordings here: casc.usgs.gov/webinars
2/ The @NOAA Science Seminar Series tackles everything from the well-being of sponges in the Florida Keys to the latest advances in weather prediction. See what's up next and sign up for their mailing list here: nodc.noaa.gov/seminars/
3/ @ClimateCentral has a long list of webinars on topics relevant to broadcast meteorologists, but recordings are open to all. Recent topics include everything from the economics of climate change to communication tips. See: medialibrary.climatecentral.org/workshops-and-…
4/ As part of the @NOAA webinars, there is a new series starting next week. It's called, "From Science to Solutions: The State of the Carbon Cycle" and it presents highlights from the "other" Black Friday climate report, carbon2018.globalchange.gov. See:
carboncyclescience.us/news/new-webin…
5/ For engineers interested in learning more about how to incorporate climate information into design and maintenance, the Infrastructure + Climate Network has a carefully curated series of recorded webinars here: theicnet.org/?page_id=24
Do you know of a useful and relevant webinar series that I missed? Add it here!
"Sea Level Rise from Melting Ice Sheets, and What We Should Do About It" by glaciologist and sea level rise expert @erignot is a public lecture hosted by @theNASEM but it's also available to watch live online, next Wed Mar 27 at 7PM : eventbrite.com/e/public-lectu…
