This product advice won’t ever get old:

When you have something people just have to tell their friends about, you’ve got a product that spreads through word of mouth.

Thats classic virality. People telling other people without any prompting.
Creating a product that spreads through word of mouth is a result of nailing the problem AND your solution to it.

With an increase in commoditization across most industries, this word of mouth bar is only getting higher.

If you want word of mouth, you have to earn it. No hacks.

Word of mouth is a result of a product created out of pure customer obsession.
If you’re obsessed with the customer and delivering massive value at every touch point, they will tell their friends.

Much easier said than done.

Living and breathing your customer’s problems is how to start.

Then you have to execute like your customer’s lives depend on it!
Teams who have customer obsession in their DNA win over the long term.

Creating this within a team requires everyone to be self-aware and honest about customer value delivery.

Ask: Are we delivering more value to customers today than we did yesterday?
The customer doesn’t care about what you did yesterday or what you’ll do in the future.

They only care about what you are doing for them right now. This minute. Today.

Get in the habit of shipping the right improvements each day versus trying to dream up your perfect roadmap.
