In ripping out the gas supply from my house, I have entered a world of regulatory anomalies. All which need to be sorted.
I first had to *pay* EDF for the gas meter to be removed.
With an odd electricity set up I had to find a supplier who would be happy to take my strange 'off peak' (not economy 7) meter. Thanks for this @octopus_energy and @ClemCowton. I now have the agile meter in!
I am still left with a big white gas meter box on the front of the house and a gas pipe in it which is capped.
No idea what to do about this but it has been suggested I pay the builders mate who works for 'the gas board' to sort it.
Though all of the supply side stuff is now sorted 👍

But @CA_Dhara you mentioned financing. We were lucky to have some cash, but a bank loan is also being used and seems to me to be the best current option.
Suppliers take note. If you want to drive this, you or someone similar will need to invest capital behind the meter.
What's next? Well try and get the plumber to put all the bits together for me, underfloor heating, heat pump (plus commissioning), bathrooms, radiators. Only got rough costs for all this.
And then I need to optimise my heat pump to work with the @octopus_energy time of use tariff using our screed/concrete floor and hot water tank as a rudimentary night storage heater This has a significant level of technical risk-But should be significantly cheaper to run than gas
@CA_Dhara just to say, the bank loan thing shouldn't be happening. In Scotland if get an interest free loan to cover the RHI investment
