There are a key contradictions between Kramer’s deposition and McCain’s book. Contrary to what McCain wrote, Kramer didn’t offer to go to London to meet Steele - McCain asked him to go and report back to him. Also, Steele did not give Kramer the dossier 1/ amgreatness.com/2019/03/18/how…
He instead arranged for Kramer to meet Glenn Simpson the next day. Contrary to media reports and a suggestion in McCain’s book that Steele provided the dossier to Kramer, it was Simpson, a DNC-Clinton political operative. And that’s what McCain gave Comey.

Kramer, who Christopher Steele called McCain’s “intermediary” in his court deposition, worked closely with Simpson in Dec 2016 to plant stories in the media about the dossier. The most explosive news was that McCain gave it to Comey on December 9. Of course, he already had it.
This was not an attempt to find out if the Russians had compromising material on Trump. It was a post-election campaign to undermine Trump, suggest he was a Russian stooge or worse, and undercut the public’s trust in the president-elect. Instead of working to ease tensions...
During a very divided time and help Trump prepare for his presidency, McCain and others worked to sabotage it. McCain appeared on news programs to fuel the Russia hysteria, while his associates worked behind the scenes to legitimize the bogus dossier.
