There are a key contradictions between Kramer’s deposition and McCain’s book. Contrary to what McCain wrote, Kramer didn’t offer to go to London to meet Steele - McCain asked him to go and report back to him. Also, Steele did not give Kramer the dossier 1/ amgreatness.com/2019/03/18/how…
He instead arranged for Kramer to meet Glenn Simpson the next day. Contrary to media reports and a suggestion in McCain’s book that Steele provided the dossier to Kramer, it was Simpson, a DNC-Clinton political operative. And that’s what McCain gave Comey.

Kramer, who Christopher Steele called McCain’s “intermediary” in his court deposition, worked closely with Simpson in Dec 2016 to plant stories in the media about the dossier. The most explosive news was that McCain gave it to Comey on December 9. Of course, he already had it.
This was not an attempt to find out if the Russians had compromising material on Trump. It was a post-election campaign to undermine Trump, suggest he was a Russian stooge or worse, and undercut the public’s trust in the president-elect. Instead of working to ease tensions...
During a very divided time and help Trump prepare for his presidency, McCain and others worked to sabotage it. McCain appeared on news programs to fuel the Russia hysteria, while his associates worked behind the scenes to legitimize the bogus dossier.

McCain repeatedly called alleged (and unproven) Russian election hacking an act of war and an attack on democracy. But instead of being angry at Obama and his security team, he helped sow doubt about the election’s legitimacy. He criticized Trump’s ability to deal with Putin...
In his book, McCain doesn’t mention Glenn Simpson, the source of the dossier that he passed to Comey and that Kramer peddled to the media and to GOP lawmakers. Key details of the dossier are omitted, even though the facts were well-known at the time the book was written.

Not only did @gabeschoenfeld viciously accuse VDH of being in service to “evil” - meaning President Trump -he got basic facts wrong about the dossier and FISAgate. He refuses to answer his critics because that’s what bullying cowards do: amgreatness.com/2019/03/13/whe…
Schoenfeld has written other gems recently, such as insisting Don Jr is a traitor for meeting with Russian lobbyists working with Glenn Simpson and how Trump was “losing his mind in 2017” and would be removed from office.

Even more appallingly, five days after this vile article was posted, VDH’s colleague at NR, the self-righteous David French, was a guest on the editor’s podcast. French, who never misses a chance to call out the bad behavior of others, said nothing to Sykes about the hit piece.
