Golda Meir was born in Ukraine in 1898. Her family emigrated to the United States and she lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 1906 to 1921 when she and her husband, Morris Myerson, left for Palestine where they lived in a kibbutz until the birth of Israel.

This resolution addresses a non-existent Constitutional question with a futile gesture. The executive has no power of the purse except the very limited power Congress delegated to it and can take away. This resolution leaves that power in place while pretending to do something.
If Congress has any shame and really cares about preserving its Constitutionally granted power of the purse, it should move immediately to dissolve CFPB -- an unconstitutional entity Congress created under Obama by willingly depriving itself of any power of the purse over it.
CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) is the brainchild of Elizabeth Warren, under direction from Barack Obama. Don't be fooled by its name. It doesn't protect consumers. It shakes down banks to create slush funds for liberal activists. Details here:

Through incompetence and ideological blindness, the President is turning our manageable border/regional challenges into what amounts to a crisis for him and his party, and thus all of us. He has already declared a natl emergency on the border; extreme, dangerous acts may follow.
2/Ah, called it. President just declared a national emergency because of a few thousand people, many with children, marching in Southern Mexico.
3/Today is 4th time this yr Trump has declared a natl emergency: 1) border earlier this yr 2) deficit to stop pay increases for federal workers 3) tariffs. This dangerous man is doing things we know from history can end democracies - there is more at stake here than it appears.

Very nearly done with Paulo Freire's "Pedagogy of the Oppressed". I recommend it to anyone interested in revolutionary social change. For teachers it ought to be required reading, but it's easy to tell why it goes unmentioned in many education programs: much too anti status quo.
Now, I've done more wack shit in my time than I care to air out on here, but I'll confess one of my worst sins: I naively joined Teach for America fresh out of college in 2012. I'm trying to imagine readings from this book being added to their training materials lmao.
Maybe I shouldn't laugh -- worse appropriations of critical perspectives have happened. Anyway, eventually I should write a reflection on that year (quit them after one) and my other experiences as a student and a worker in public schools, from VA to NYC to the Mississippi Delta.
