Kids today don't realize this but the neutron bomb was really popular among conservatives in 1970s/1980s. It kills people but leaves the buildings intact! Beautiful. One of Jimmy Carter's great sins was cancelling program.
Sam Cohen, father of neutron bomb, wanted to use it in Vietnam. Here is in Reason magazine in 1984 arguing Israel should be surrounded by a nuclear wall:
Cohen also included one of the great all time provisos for his scheme to surround Israel with a nuclear wall: "To be sure, the distress resulting from massive radiation exposure would be severe." To be sure!
