Brexit: Military steps up preparations in case of no deal.
Operation Redfold will direct some 3,500 military personnel who have been put on standby for a no-deal scenario.
The MoD already had 100 military planners helping with no-deal Brexit

More than 10,000 military personnel, 35 warships, 5 submarines and 59 aircraft and helicopters from 13 countries will take part in Exercise Joint Warrior until 11 April.

Joint Warrior military exercise in UK (10,000+ foreign troops)

The increased support for a ‘no deal’ Brexit is the ultimate failure of the Leave movement. It’s the inevitable consequence of the refusal to grasp details, come to terms with complexity & coalesce around a plan. Compromise can be frustrating. So instead they will have a tantrum.
Some Brexiteers advocated sensible solutions. The EFTA/EEA solution gained a lot of traction in the years before the ref. Even Farage had promoted it & countless others. See Farage below from 2011 essentially making the ‘Liberal Leave’ case!

So Theresa May arrives at EU summit and, like a dream sequence, repeats that "considerable progress" has been made since Salzburg but "problems remain on Northern Ireland backstop".

So what can we say back in the real world? /1
UK Negotiators just spent nine days straight reaching about as far as they can go on #Brexit fudges.

In summary, the EU will NOT give the UK an all-UK customs backstop. But it WILL agree to an all-UK customs arrangement in the future relationship document.

There's a worrying little issue at the heart of brexit which is keeping the Brexiters awake at night. They want out of CU, but don't really care about SM, but their supporters are largely the opposite. This helps finish Brexit
Why? Pull up a chair
2) although Brexiters such as Johnson & co make blustering noises about the SM, it's likely they couldn't care less, at least not initially.

If you read between the lines in the Ref campaign, you could argue they were pitching for the Norway model
3) in the Ref brexit leaders never mentioned reducing immigration at all, in fact Hannan was actually campaigning for EFTA beforehand.
Let's face it, free marketers don't care about FoM or the £10B payment, it was the swashbuckling Free Trade Deals outside of CU they were after

I have changed my mind on #Brexit and now accept it is the best thing that is happening to my country in my life time for the following reasons. Thread
I have come to realise that the EU will be hit worse by UK leaving single market as 8% of eurozone exports go to the UK but 44% of UK exports go to the EU clearly tge eu will be worse hit by a trade war
We will walk out not merely on the single market but every single trade treaty we now have with the entire world by ensuring all our exporters face worse trade terms this will toughen up lazy UK businesses and see unpatriotic ones go to the wall
