If this suit is tossed today, despite all the wider public interest issues at play, the fundamentals of consumer protection in the context of our elections, I’m not sure we should have much confidence that Facebook will be held to account in the US courts for Cambridge Analytica.

Never forget: Cambridge Analytica broke UK law by politically profiling Americans for US elections. The only reason they didn’t get busted is because they closed up shop.
HUD’s complaint describes how Facebook’s Custom Audiences data upload and matching aids and abets unlawful discrimination.

Custom Audiences is also how Cambridge Analytica targeted voters directly for Ben Carson’s campaigns using tainted Facebook data.

We know Crowe, Emerdata’s appointed administrator, has been spending time communicating with US attorneys. It’s in their public progress report.

During last Monday’s trial these topics were off-limits:

That confirms Cambridge Analytica remains a subject of active investigation. Barr Letter doesn’t settle legitimate concerns over Mueller & CA. Instead #ReleaseTheFullReport because even if not criminal under US laws, we’ve already shown these guys flagrantly break UK laws.

Facebook shareholder suit over Cambridge Analytica deceptions kicked to Delaware courts by Northern District of California. Plaintiffs want to know “who was involved and when they knew.” law.com/therecorder/20…
I find it very interesting that many of these major decisions across the various suits over Cambridge Analytica are occurring around the same time about a year later. These things take at least a year.
Worth noting that lawmakers (UK DCMS, US SSCI/HSPCI, etc, Canada ETHI, EU Parl LIBE, etc) and regulators (UK ICO, US FTC etc) completed/launched investigations. Their reports have been replete with hard evidence, and so useful to court cases as crucial public interest evidence.
