So while @Lorand_Bartels ‘ deal would avoid tariffs, it would not avoid significant disruption.
@Lorand_Bartels Of course that could be fixed. Art. 99 “The EU and its Member States will grant the UK and its citizens any and all benefits it received when it was a Member State”. For safety’s sake let’s throw in Art. 100“The UK is not obliged to continue to grant similar benefits to the EU.”
@Lorand_Bartels My point is this: while drafting a treaty can be technically difficult, the main problem is not in drafting the great conditions you want. It is in agreeing - which might require concessions you don’t want to give.
