Shiro likes to tell Keith that he loves him randomly throughout the day. Slurred over eggs and coffee in the morning, mouthed as they pass by each other in the halls during work, tapped out in Morse code on his leg at lunch and meetings.
Shiro likes to tell Keith that he loves him randomly throughout the day. Slurred over eggs and coffee in the morning, mouthed as they pass by each other in the halls during work, tapped out in Morse code on his leg at lunch and meetings.
At night, he stops in the middle of paperwork to say, "Hey." When Keith looks up from his own paperwork, Shiro smiles helplessly at him. "I love you, you know that?" And Keith blushes because he always does, gives him a small nod and a soft, "love you too."
He breathes it against Keith's neck in the bathroom as they get ready for bed and laughs in delight when Keith giggles and splutters toothpaste everywhere, ticklish.
He draws it on Keith's sweaty, sated body at night, etching it like a tattoo along his spine in the hopes that he will feel it always. Keith, more asleep than not, nuzzles against his chest and presses the words against his skin as if whispering them directly into his heart.
