There were a lot of vile and offensive and false ads last cycle, but for sheer gaslighting disingenuousness, this one takes the cake
That's @HawleyMO, who as MO AG signed onto a lawsuit to strike down *all of Obamacare, including pre-existing conditions* insisting in an ad that he supports protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
That lawsuit, despite it's glaring, almost preposterous legal flaws won with a sympathetic judge in the District Court. And now the Trump admin supports the law being completely vacated as well. Who knows what happens next.
But to be clear: if Hawley's suit were to succeed, the ACA would be entirely struck down and the protections for people with pre-existing conditions (tens of millions of people at any given moment, as many as a 100 million over a lifetime) would go away.
But @HawleyMO got to be a US senator, so the ad served its purpose.
