How much does that system have in common with the system that was released by Swiss Post? We already know it shared code with iVote.

I want to hammer home the severity of this issue. This is now bigger than Switzerland. New South Wales just finished an election on a related system. Other countries have been holding elections on these systems for years.

This is why we need transparency in evoting.

There is no escaping the severity of this issue. This was a complete systemic failure in engineering and auditing process spanning multiple continents, perhaps over the last decade.

No one corporation or government is to blame, but everyone is responsible for what happens next.

If a government is not willing to open up it's evoting systems to public scrutiny, they must be considered compromised. Out of the many lessons to take away from this process that, I think, is one of the most important.

This whole debacle couldn't get much worse.
