So let’s deconstruct one of the Pulitzer-winning articles in the NYT by @nytmike shall we? Based on one “memo” written by Jim Comey, the NYT claims, without evidence, that Trump told Comey to “shut down the federal investigation” into Flynn 1/ nytimes.com/2017/05/16/us/…
First, that’s not even what Comey’s own diary said. Comey claims Trump said “let this go,” about Flynn. No mention of an investigation. But this doesn’t stop the NYT from claiming Trump attempted to influence the probe into Trump officials and Russia. But that is 100% false 2/
Trump did not KNOW his campaign was under investigation. Comey never told him. In fact, the first time Comey confirmed that the FBI had been investigating the campaign was in March 2017. The alleged convo btw Comey and Trump was in February 2017. Further, if Trump said it 3/
It was in reference to the bogus Logan Act violation that Comey and Sally Yates were orchestrating. A never-used act that no one has even heard of. Had nothing to do with FBI investigation.

NYT never saw the “memo” but one of Comey’s pals, Dan Richman, read it to a reporter 4/
Here’s a gem: “The White House has repeatedly crossed lines that other administrations have been reluctant to cross whwn discussing politically charged investigations.”

You don’t say?

NYT also repeats Comey’s line about a loyalty pledge, again, without any proof but memo 5/
Here’s the trick that the NYT used. This article was posted in mid May when it was public knowledge that the FBI had been investigating the campaign. But the Comey-Trump convo took place in February, when no one except the plotters knew what the FBI was doing. Including Trump. 6/
So the NYT frames the article in the present tense without giving it any historical context. It bought Comey’s con job hook, line and sinker.
A quick search of NYT articles about Mike Flynn between February 2017 and May 1, 2017. Not one piece about Flynn being under investigation for Russian election collusion. Even the NYT didn’t know.
