Worth noting one particular consequence of the "Confirmatory Public Vote" Motion. The language of "implementation" and "ratification" borrows from the second and third stages (after "approval") of leaving the EU as set out in the Withdrawal Act (legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2018/16/…).
But the Motion is silent on what MP supporters might "approve" - it leaves that question to a separate substantive Motion.

So it ignores both sides of the question 'what is the referendum on' - what is the deal we're putting to the public - and what is the alternative?
This is undesirable. How, with 11 days to go, do these questions get resolved?

It's also worth asking how the passing of the CPV Motion affects how MPs vote on a substantive Motion? Eg. if you're a diehard remainer MP do you assume default Remain and support an ugly alternative?
TL: DR. Is the Confirmatory Public Vote motion in this form just a sophisticated form of "Brexit means Brexit" that kicks the really difficult questions down the (now rather short) road?
