Personally I find the solution very satisfactory. Have been saying for 18 months that a customs union is the best solution. But boy how much better if two sides behaved like adults...
May in any case does not know how to conduct an international negotiation. Let’s see:
Say she agrees with Corbyn on a customs union and deal is approved. That’s only the beginning. Customs union will only work if UK gets some concessions from EU. How does she expect to get them if she starts by ruling out no deal?
UK needs a customs union with an automatic clause extending future trade deals to UK. Will it get this clause? Not with this negotiating style
And remember EU is in an extremely vulnerable position, with all its major economies either in recession or on the brink and public opinions with much lower tolerance to Brexit dislocation than the UK public
