Not only is this so-called peace deal deeply immoral, it's also mind blowing in its stupidity and short-sightedness, as if whoever drafted it is ignorant of the last 50 years of the region's history.
Other explanation: They know exactly what they're doing and want a broken and unstable Middle East, and more cascading state failure, so that they can be the region's policemen.

1. China is committing cultural genocide against over a Million Muslims, you acted you don't even know about it
2. MBS killed and dismembered a journalist, you received him with open arms

As we burrow into warm beds, surrounded by loved ones, remember: there are thousands of children, some of them infants, in custody of our government and separated from their parents. Our govt. doesn't even know how many it has taken, or where they or their families are. +
Some of these blameless children are held in chain-link cages. Some are subject to sexual and other abuse. All are traumatized. If you care at all, you feel the shame that attaches to us all. +

I start from the title, which is misleading. He forces his & contemporary political view points on #Adwa which celebrated its 123rd anniversary. None of the sentiments he discussed were part of this battle and him dragging it to our current political atmosphere is dispiriting. 2/
Another lie is presented here which completely disregards the historical oscillation of how #Adwa was commemorated. Adwa is not a pt. of ideological contestation and it's not contested by various nationalist groups (he went from country to groups) now. 3/

I knew that a massacre took place during 1947. But when I started to read up on the subject, it shocked me to see just how unaware we are about the "Nakba" that took place & the tales of horror it caused & most of all how the narrative got distorted by the perpetrator.

#History/#Art thread – From my recent trip to Madurai/Tirunelveli. On Jain sites (some with a rich history dating back to at least the 3rd cent. BCE), early Pandyan rock-cut cave temples (7th-8th cent. CE) & the amazing Vettuvan koil.

Before I start on the places, the history around all this is fascinating & splits opinion. Is it apt to call the script Tamili/Tamil Brahmi? Did it develop independently in the Tamil country/come with the Jain monks from the north? Were 8,000 Jains actually impaled in Madurai?>
