If was some mighty fine Journalism to dig up a video from a year ago where Trump compares MS-13 to animals. I know exactly when this came out because my pinned tweet was about this.

They took him out of context then and they’re doing it now.

MS-13 are “vulnerable” is quite the take.

We’ve all seen the video, champ, and we’re not buying this crap.

He’s PLAINLY talking about MS-13.
Here’s Joy Reid selling the same lies from an edited video where they conveniently remove the part of the video of Trump OBVIOUSLY talking about MS-13.

This is a year old and you know better.

want to single this tweet from a wapo writer to point out how conservative media criticism works. the post ultimately went ahead with the story, but they did this with the knowledge that it could produce a right-wing pile on.
but think of what it does with a story they dont feel as strongly about. you think that story ends up being reported on and published? or is just not worth the hassle? cons have done very good at working the refs. liberals still hold rhetorical fire on the press. pls stop.
Every time a journalist writes about a political issue they price-in the fact they could get hit with a right-wing shitstorm. If you think that doesnt influence story selection and tone, you're nuts. OTOH you have liberals bragging about subscribing to the NYT, so they crap on u.

One thing I point out in the #LowerEd epilogue is that there is a political context to shifting legitimacy to corporate highered. The GOP isn't shy about it. It's their official policy platform. Of Liberty, Alec shows this nicely
It is the context that colleagues like @Lollardfish @ldburnett @reclaimUC have tirelessly researched, written about and archived: the culture wars never ended. They merely transformed and became more deeply ingrained in "legitimate" political discourse

Some things in the first year were fun: meeting like-minded people, the #scifi characters, learning how to take effective action. Celebrating #victories like beating the #ACA repeal bills.

A lot of it wasn't fun - the threats of nuclear war, the daily stress of bad news. 2
