In light of a recent encounter with an overly eager and frequently ignored purveyor of #WhiteGenocide conspiracy theories, we downloaded tweets containing the hashtag, resulting in 2443 from 757 accounts in the last 10 days. #AltWankers

The content of the #WhiteGenocide tweets consists largely of variations on the obvious theme, to the extent that there are multiple permutations of "it's ok to be white" present as hashtags. What do the accounts tweeting the hashtag look like?

What media sources do #WhiteGenocide accounts link? Anti-immigrant site Voice of Europe is the favorite, followed by Fox, Gateway Pundit, RT, and Breitbart. #WhiteGenocide is the most popular hashtag, followed by #MAGA and #GiletsJaunes.

What about bots? Only 12 of 757 accounts (1.6%) are obviously automated, but they tweeted 618 of 2443 tweets (25.3%.) 429 additional tweets (17.6%) are other accounts' RTs of the bots. Among the automated accounts is @wginfonetorg, alpha node of the beta #WhiteGenocide network.

The bots tweeting about #WhiteGenocide appear to be a few smaller groups rather than a single operation. Most promote the theory or amplify accounts that do with the exception of the group shown in blue, which use the hashtag ironically (these only contributed 6 tweets.)

What happens if we remove the automated accounts from the picture? 1047 of 2443 tweets (42.9%) simply don't happen, reducing the overall #WhiteGenocide tweet volume considerably.

One more consequence of removing the 12 bots from the current #WhiteGenocide network: the largest cluster of accounts is split apart. Accounts that previously had a 2 degree of separation relationship via one of the bots (mostly @wginfonetorg) are no longer connected.

Footnote: maybe #PunctuationGenocide would be more accurate. Just sayin'. . .
