Antisemitism, like all oppressions, impacts its targets (Jews) most, but it is a problem for all.

The Soros myth fueled the murder of 11 Jews in Pittsburgh. For that alone, it should never get air time. How does this lie and antisemitism broadly also threaten our larger society?
This article points out one impact of antisemitism beyond the immediate danger to Jews: the delegitimization of social movements.

But myths about Jews obfuscate many threats to us all. If “the Jews” are the problem, it endangers our people AND real problems aren’t taken on.
We don’t fight hate only when it’s directed at us. We fight it bc it’s the right thing to do, & any hate creates a dangerous environment.

But we also fight it – racism, ableism, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc – because hate is a political strategy to deny people their fair share.
Hate as a political strategy is fairly simple – divide the people against each other. We are many, they are few, so our division is essential.

But solidarity, which demands we fight hate bc it’s right but also because it’s a problem to all, is a stronger strategy. We will win.
In short, stop the Soros myth because it demonizes and endangers Jews. AND stop the Soros myth because it tells lies about why our democracy doesn’t work and why so few of us have enough to survive on.

Choose solidarity with Jews and with all the people. That is how we thrive.
