Here's a problem, then. There are points for solving this.

There's a classical music tune I'm thinking of. It's one of the well known ones. If you heard it, you would instantly recognise it.
And even if you could hear me, it would do no good because my voice is such an atrocity, such an abomination, that I could hum Happy Birthday, you wouldn't recognise it
So the problem is, I've got to describe this music in such a way that you will recognise what music I'm talking about, without having to hear it
And how the fuck do you describe music?

Just look at the insular mentality of Brexit.
Northern Ireland is part of our country, the United Kingdom. But look how thoroughly the English nationalists have obliterated it from their mind.
See, Brexit is indecent. It creates a probably insurmountable problem for a large part of our own country.
And the Brexiteers just don't give a fuck. refuse to even allow it brainspace.
The evidence is there in front of us every day, but the media are ashamed of it and they choose not to address it.
If you want Brexit so badly you disregard part of your own country to get it, you're an English nationalist. There is no other word for you.

If fartage looked like winning seats in Westminster, then it might make sense for several remain parties to unite in a single candidate for each seat.

But as it is, European elections have a completely different voting system, and it would do more harm than good to try and field joint candidates anyway.

Fartage would probably end up with more MEPs like that, not less.
See, the European elections are designed to allocate seats according to each party's strength of support, regardless of how other parties are divided up.

This is why public politics is so feeble. People "want" things, but they don't concern themselves with how to achieve those things.
Say you want to stop Brexit. I want to, you want to.
Okay, but we're in no position to stop anything, are we? We're powerless to stop Brexit because we don't control government policy.
So then you look for a party that wants to stop Brexit, and you support them.

And there isn't one. And that's why you're fucked. It's because there is no party that wants to stop Brexit. Not in England, anyway.

As I’m seeing complaints about twitter content I see no reason to not inflict some of my stories on you. In this case some of my disastrous dating prior to finding a lady who tolerated me. I shall share 3 low energy dating scenarios in this thread. Think of it as Easter penance:

I've been thinking how we discuss Classical Music. I've been in lively & robust discussions about Diversity in CM only to be derailed by the "That's not really Classical Music" trope.
2/ Usually this is in response to my bringing up the evolution of Classical Music organizations (e.g. Orchestras) that have been continually evolving throughout the 20th century and into the 21st century.

Here's my problem with the "But we're in it for the policy" brand of Republicans who do nothing on Trump. For one thing, cutting taxes in this fiscal and economic situation was stupid. Huge deficits and higher interest rates. Woohoo, good job there, guys. Moving on (1/x)
