This is why public politics is so feeble. People "want" things, but they don't concern themselves with how to achieve those things.

Say you want to stop Brexit. I want to, you want to.
Okay, but we're in no position to stop anything, are we? We're powerless to stop Brexit because we don't control government policy.

So then you look for a party that wants to stop Brexit, and you support them.

And there isn't one. And that's why you're fucked. It's because there is no party that wants to stop Brexit. Not in England, anyway.

You can't stop Brexit until there is a political party that you can vote for with that policy. That's how democracy works. Not by wanting things, but by voting for them.

You will stop Brexit only when a party wants to stop it. When they say "Vote for us to stop Brexit." Then you can vote for them.

And where is the party with the policy? There isn't one.

You keep letting the Liberal Democrats off the hook.
A referendum is just a means to an end. It's a way to execute or validate a policy, but it's not a policy in itself.
A referendum is not a policy.

This is the point I've been making for three fucking years. You demand so little of your politicians.
If the Liberal Democrats want to stay in Europe they can bastard well fight for it. And if they're not going to fight they can fuck off because we've got cowards enough already.
