Like many people to have been on the wrong end of a Section 21 eviction, I'm very pleased to see it go/going.
A couple of little notes of caution though:

1. We don't have any timeline for this yet. Don't forget that the government announced its plans to ban letting agency fees in November 2016. They will finally be banned on 1 June this year. So don't expect this to move fast...
... which leaves us with the big elephant in the room - this is driven by the PM's office and she will almost certainly be gone before it comes into force.

2. The landlord's power to evict the tenant if they want to sell looks like a potentially massive loophole.

... that's still pretty limited tenancy security for a family. So you need longer fixed terms as well. Which, incidentally, the government promised about a year ago and we've heard precious little on since.
