Thinking about this tweet thread tonight, and I think it's a very significant development. I don't want to tag it because honestly, I'm not interested in dialoguing with any pro-reparations people and I'll explain why. 1/6
Only a year ago we were told talk of reparations is fringe and we're silly for confronting it, because no one is calling for that. Fast forward to the last few months and then this.

I take Leeman seriously. His book on the offense of God's love is one of my all-time favs. 2/6
See how fast the goalposts have changed? From "That's absurd, no one would seriously support that." to "If you won't have a dialogue about this, you're absurd and uncharitable."

In. One. Year.

I mean, it's laughable. 3/6
"We're not being divisive for bringing up this incredibly divisive, sinful idea. You're being divisive for not talking about it nicely."

How many times do we have to do this? It's the progressive playbook. Bring up something divisive, then call for unity. 4/6
The divisive, sinful idea becomes acceptable because it was given a seat at the table. Repeat.

Except on this one, they have the extra tool of coward pastors scared to death of being called racists and not having their dream multi-cultural churches if they don't submit. 5/6
They are right, this is going to divide the church. There can be no peace here. Jeremiah 6:14.

If you want to take people's money because of the color of their skin, there's nothing to talk about except for all the ways this idea is sinful and absurd. No seat at the table. /fin
