Speaking of kids having parents of both sexes, "Other patterns need not be second best." That's not how words work, anything else is literally second best or worse.

Yeah, I think the world is challenging that enough, let's hold up God's design as glorious and set that as our aim.

But that's the root disagreement, Living Out doesn't believe God's design in heterosexual fruitfulness is holy, they write garbage articles on that subject too. So, we're not going to agree, and that false premise is where much of this is coming from.

A big part of Living Out appears to be avoiding dealing with the shame of the disordered telos of homosexuality by arbitrarily aiming for celibacy and glorying in that. That SSA automatically means one has the "gift" of celibacy seems foolish and doesn't line up with reality.
