#FF @maitelsadany on #Egypt constitutional amendments. And invite her to speak at all hearings on Egypt. I am sick and fucking tired of seeing just Egyptian men speak about Sisi and his fascism. There are women in Egypt. There are Egyptian women who are experts on our country.
This is why I wrote my 2012 essay Why Do They Hate Us? & my 1st book Headscarves and Hymens: Why the Middle East Needs a Sexual Revolution: as with almost every revolution, regardless of risks we women took, it would crystallize into one group of men fighting aother group of men.
And ICYMI, patriarchy being its universal self: one group of men fighting another group of men is an apt way of describing US election coverage: mentions of male candidates have been consistently higher than women & women candidates receive disproportionately negative coverage.
The headline should just read: We seem to be ignoring the women.

Since we’re on the topic of reconciliation and reparations, I have some thoughts...
I briefly chatted abt reparations with @RickSmithShow a few weeks ago, and the cliffs notes takeaway is that policymakers and stakeholders have to come to the table to lay out ALL the disparities and determine which policies are necessary to mitigate them.
The other thing I said was that what a meaningful reparations discussion looks like ISN’T a bunch of 70-80 year old White men and women deciding the shit on Black people’s behalf without actual Black people LEADING the discussion.

I happen to be an Alabama dem who worked my ass off promoting the initiatives that the Obama Admin also put the HARD work into, and frankly I am sick and fucking tired of her turning them into photo ops for HERSELF at the expense of the ppl the programs aim to help.
It's actually a disgrace that any dem worth their party membership will allow Princess Feckless to turn programs we care about into promo opportunities for herself. You are damn right I'm pissed. I've spent my life fighting for the programs she's taking credit for.
