Photographs: $TSLA recording the “autonomous driving” demo for its so-called “Autonomy Investor Day” (Apr 22).

Mounted, two cameras: one rear-facing on the trunk, one inside directed towards the steering and center console.

Note the license plate: MFG632779S. a company vehicle
This thread builds on this previous note:

The vehicle traveled approximately 35 miles from 1:00PM to 1:40PM, entered I-880N in Fremont/Union City, conducted trivial lane changes (merging from leftmost-lane into right lane and back), and concluded its “automous” drive at the Treasure Island exit on the Bay Bridge.
The demo conveniently bypassed the toll booth, by using lanes compatible with the “FasTrak” transponder.

Note that the vehicle did not (and most assuredly does not have the capability to) follow traffic laws. Bay Bridge entrance speed limit is 25 MPH. The vehicle drove at 45 MPH
Here’s what I will be looking for on Tesla’s “Autonomy Investor Day”.

a) Does Tesla use this specific footage for its autonomy demonstration? If not, we will know that the company will have needed multiple runs to demonstrate its “capabilities”?
b) Will the demo use footage based on this route at all? If not, the route itself may have proven too complicated.

Why are reporters not invited to this event?

If there is a live demo, will that route have been “pre-programmed”?
Note that Musk announced its “Autonomy Investor Day” on April 3. Why is the company still apparently recording its demo? Was the technology proven before the attempts to demonstrate it (of course not)?
In 2016, Tesla released its infamous “Paint it Black” Full Self-Driving demo, hoping that the public would believe that Teslas had the capacity to drive themselves.

It later became apparent that the demo was doctored, and required numerous attempts with instructions tailored specifically for that route.

Note: the only autonomous testing miles reported by Tesla in 2016 were in the week that it took to run that demo:

As with all things Tesla, particularly with regard to its apparent technological prowess, the “Autonomy Investor Day” will be saturated with false promises, misleading suggestions, and lures to credulity.
