Day 1 of Q4, Today Model 3 production is at <3k/wk. As was the case three months ago, Tesla production crashes after EoQ.

But while we're reminiscing, remember when Elon Musk blamed an apparent shortage of car carriers for his "logistics hell"?
Well, today there were well over 35 IDLE car carriers at the Fremont factory. If you ask these truckers what's going on - they'll tell you the same thing. They're waiting for Tesla to prepare and direct their loads.

Here's a photo of some of these carriers.
But that's not at all. Truckers waiting for loads end up parking their rigs nearby, and either rest at the hotel or find a bar to pass the time. This is within a quarter mile of the factory.
Maybe Tesla's not in logistics hell. Indeed, it's the car carriers that are in purgatory. Maybe Tesla's in our-suppliers-got-subpoenaed-to-determine-if-we-really-did-plan-to-make-5k/wk-model3s-and-now-we're-forced-to-order-far-more-carriers-than-we-need hell. More carriers below
Over 75 car carriers can be found within a quarter mile idling, waiting for work. Even more are more located West of the factory. All in all, the number of idle car carriers could be as much as 90.

Let's chalk this up as another example of Elon's shenanigans.
Of course, delivery hell isn't new. Recall that this isn't the first time Elon has outsourced responsibility has cited "delivery hell". In fact it happened in Q1 as well. Seems awfully familiar doesn't it?
At the end of 2018Q1, Tesla was unable to meet delivery targets in Norway. Many rigs were in collisions, cars were totaled, and customers did not receive their vehicles. So with the help of his favorite gimp, Elon claimed Tesla was "exceeding local logistics capacity"
In actuality Tesla had no priority to unload cars at the port of their choice, and resorted to high pollution carriers from Lithuania that that skirted safety regulations. Much like the cars, the carriers were death traps. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration held back cargo
Elon subsequently promised to smooth out deliveries, and yet they're back to where they were: burst deliveries at the end of the week.

And, hilariously/sadly, as of just a few weeks ago, we're back to where we started — using dangerous/polluting Lithuanian carriers because Tesla can't afford and/or doesn't have the know-how to sync delivery w/ production.
@O__rust says it:

So what're we left with? A CEO whose stories are increasingly refuted in real time, not apparently aware that other people exist, that there's a fact of the matter as to a carrier shortage, and that those who know will correct the record ht @russ1mitchell

So, yeah, the research is fun. The CEO lies, we catch him. But the CEO has become uninspired. It's as if he's phoning it in. And the task becomes slightly dull, and predictable.
