This is all quite hilarious and seems to boil down to the question of whether the NRA’s main contractor works for the organization or vice versa. Anyway all these people are terrible, the org will remain bad no matter who wins. nytimes.com/2019/04/26/bus…
Looks like LaPierre won...
Part of the dispute was over the effectiveness of NRATV, the nutty far-right streaming service run by North ally Ackerman McQueen. It will be interesting to see whether and how it survives.

@mmfa Journalists including @Sulliview @ThePlumLineGS @ddale8 @DKThomp have explained why it's a problem for media to spread Trump's falsehoods in headlines and tweets without debunking them. But there was little data on the scope of the problem before now.
From an initial universe of 50,000+ tweets from 32 Twitter feeds operated by major national news outlets, we identified 2,000+ tweets that referenced Trump comments. 30% of those tweets referenced false claims, but roughly two-thirds of the time, the outlets didn't note that.

So is CNN going to take Stephen Moore back? He was a hack when they hired him, and the network's own reporters have detailed his "25-year track record of criticizing gender advancement," among other things...
It goes without saying that Moore will be welcome at the Heritage Foundation.

How is this not the lede of the story?
The president of the United States is urging the attorney general to conduct investigations into his political enemies, while his personal lawyer tries to get foreign prosecutors to do the same. Seems pretty bad!
Here's Sara Carter on the April 3 edition of Sean Hannity's Fox News show saying that the Justice Department "need to investigate" the Biden-Ukraine story, which John Solomon had been talking about in the previous segment. Hannity responds by invoking Uranium One.

As we mourn the attack on Muslims in Christchurch and recognise the ways that ongoing Islamophobia has led to this atrocity, let us also remember:

Not all Muslims look the same way.
Not all Muslims are necessarily devout enough to go to mosques.
But even so, they are vulnerable.
I feel like there's a particular relationship ex/lasped/cultural Muslims have to other Muslims that is different from those who have left other religions. (Though if I'm wrong do let me know.)

Firstly, Muslim countries like Malaysia have your faith on public record.
I know some people are going to tell me Malaysia's a secular country technically. It's only half secular at best. If it were fully secular there wouldn't be a need for a separate Syariah jurisprudence system on top of civil law & we wouldn't have our faith on our ID cards.

Just saw #vice. I have to say they managed to make Cheney likeable and human. Far from demonizing him or holding him to account, they gave him a free pass.
2. Cheney can and should be held to account from a conservative's position and from a ststesman's perspective but this analysis are yet to be written.
3. I'll say this once for anyone who is new to following me. Politicians are nasty people. If you want to be limed don't be a politician. The political decisions in his family show that.

The Rubin-Fisher-Neyman framework for causality, or "potential outcomes" states you have to compare two states of the world to make a confident causal claim but according to the "switching equation" you only observe one of them. This is the fundamental problem of causal inference
