BTW for 1st season LEVERAGE @downey and I read ~250 scripts. After that we had a CE narrow down to top dozen. Same CE/Producer @JenniferCourt12 runs my company now. For KINGKILLER she read literally hundreds of scripts and also drew on her giant database of previous meetings.
Look I think it’ll actually be nice to have good agents back, but the best an agent can do is get you pulled out of the slush pile and get you read (and even then probably not by the showrunner). Maybe get you a meeting, one of many, if they’re cashing a favor.
I *do not want to underplay that role* - that’s a big jump up the ladder, and you quickly learn what agents have good taste & also genuinely champion diversity. But this bizarre revisionist history by the agencies & H’wood media is embarrassing and offensive.
