1. We have emphasized that our faith is a function of our love relationship with God and that relationship exists within the context of a covenant. The covenant will never fail from God’s end and God cannot lie. When He makes a promise, He will fulfill His promise. #TheCovenant
2. There are two parties to this covenant; you and God. The Covenant will never fail from God’s end, so we need to focus on keeping our part of the Covenant. Genesis 17:1-2 (NKJV). #TheCovenant
3. The result of being in a covenant with God is that you and God become one. Your being one with God multiplies you exceedingly; your status changes. #TheCovenant
4. God demanded of Abraham: Walk before me and be blameless; keep your part of this agreement. We need to be people of integrity to keep this covenant active. If it’s going to work, we need to be people that keep our promises before God. #TheCovenant
5. The reason God swore to Abraham is that God ran a test on him & he passed. The big question for us today is how many people will pass God’s test? It is easy to call on God and ask him to keep his part but can He depend on us to keep our part? Genesis 22:1-2 (NIV) #TheCovenant
6. We emphasize a lot on what God should do but I think we should emphasize more on what we should do knowing that this arrangement will never fail on God’s part. We should focus on ‘us’ rather than God. #TheCovenant
7. The first requirement of the Covenant is Obedience. In Deut 28:1-2 (NKJV), Moses called the whole nation of Israel to obedience. #TheCovenant
8. When the covenant is working for you, you will rise higher than any other system. Individually and beyond that, collectively; we need to satisfy the terms of the covenant. This is because we will achieve a whole lot more. #TheCovenant
9. Christ was able to achieve more because of his obedience to the Father. Christ obeyed God to the point of death (Philippians 2:8-9). So you can see that when we satisfy our part of the covenant by obeying God, God lifts us higher . #TheCovenant
10. We need men and women that will have this kind of integrity with God now. As emphasized, it is a love relationship with God. If you love God, you will obey him.Jesus said the greatest commandment is Love the Lord your God. #TheCovenant
11. Our part of the covenant is explained in many ways but summarized in Gal 5:14 (NIV) – The entire law is summed up in a single command: Love your neighbour as yourself. You want to be a covenant keeper in this day and age? Then be a God lover & be a people lover. #TheCovenant
12. There are many things you can do amiss and there are many things you can do and fail but you cannot miss it loving people. Romans 13:8-10 (NKJV) explains it better.#TheCovenant
13. Human nature is wicked and treats other people harshly because sin causes us to hurt one another. But God’s covenant people are the ones that are radically different. We do not behave that way. Matthew 5:43-45. #TheCovenant
14. Where do we find the justification to pray for our enemies to die? Are we sure we are not masking wickedness with spirituality? Because what our Master prescribed is to love our enemies and to pray for them; not pray against them. #TheCovenant
15. What you have is what you give. You can’t give hatred except hatred is inside you. We don’t have the traces of hatred because it is not part of our nature. We are now one with God. #TheCovenant
16. What makes a New Testament Christian is the capacity for sacrifice. Jesus said in Matt 5, the willingness to sacrifice should be without discrimination. A Christian will never find justification for prejudice. This doesn’t help the covenant to work for us. #TheCovenant
17. These days I hear people making generalized statements to mask their prejudice. You hear them say: all women are this; all men are that; there is something wrong with blacks; all whites are; People who make such statements do so from a standpoint of prejudice #TheCovenant
18. Everybody from a particular tribe cannot be the same. In all of the categories you generalized, you will still find fantastic and amazing people. You cannot have the love of Christ with such discrimination in your heart.#TheCovenant
19. Love enables us to solve problems for others creatively with the wisdom and the power of God. #TheCovenant
20. When you find parts of the world where there are serious deprivations, we’ve come to realize that it is not because they don’t have resources; it is greed, wickedness and the desire for few people to prosper at the expense of others.#TheCovenant
21. God, through the Holy Spirit gives us gifts and talents that give the capacity to solve problems. But love is the greatest motivation that gives us capacity to solve problems. 1st Cor 12:28 to 13:1 #TheCovenant
22. When the Holy Spirit came upon the Disciples of Christ on the day of Pentecost, we saw the proof of speaking in tongues, but that wasn’t the only thing that happened; also their capacity to love exploded. Somehow they found capacity for unity. Acts 4:32-35. #TheCovenant
23. Get ready for the Holy Spirit in you to move you to meet a need, move you to solve a problem and expect phenomenal things to happen. #TheCovenant
