Note how the GOP keeps pushing a false framing that Mueller's impeachment referral hinged on a narrow, statutory definition of "crime." That's NOT TRUE. A president can be impeached for something that's not technically a crime.

And Barr keeps referring to the government's inability to prove obstruction "beyond a reasonable doubt." Again: NO. There IS no "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard in impeachment. Again: which is why Mueller insisted that the FACTS, not a binary conclusion, be reported.

Think of it this way: imagine Mueller had found Trump (a) was drunk every morning by 10 a.m., (b) spent a cabinet meeting watching porn on his phone, and (c) walked around the West Wing in a tutu.

Those aren't crimes.
But they're impeachable.
THAT'S why it's not "binary."

I was thinking about the odd position Sanders finds himself in, where many primary voters love him but a significant number truly HATE him, which means he could win the nom but with a deeply fractured, non-unified party moving into the general. Seems... suboptimal.

This led me to ponder how a negative-voting primary might work -- ie, one in which, like a reality show, voters REJECTED candidates they dislike, instead of voting for ones they like. Choosing the least-disliked candidate isn't necc. a terrible idea in these pessimistic times.

Which then made me wonder, what ARE the Dem candidates' disapproval ratings? It's interesting: Sanders has high unfavorables (second-highest in the Dem field among Dem voters), but Warren's unfavorables are even higher than his. Which: ? Just misogyny, or ?
