Just got home from our local independent pet shop, which sells the highest-octane catnip mice I have ever encountered. I bought six (one for each local cat + one for @EditrixW's cat who's having a birthday).
Thomas tackled Mom. Elsie became Entirely Eyes, and is now suckling on hers like it's a pacifier.
What was that crash? I am not going to investigate: a catnip story.

I wound up on Goodreads yesterday (I try not to go there when I can help it), and was confronted with several neutral-to-negative reviews of MIDDLEGAME, which was honestly a relief. I was getting scared. (Reviews too good, no one believes them. It's a real thing!)
(To be clear: Honest reviews are for readers, not authors. The only negative review I take any umbrage with is the one that said I clearly have no siblings, because it's factually very wrong. No one is required to like anything.)
The factual errors are part of why I avoid Goodreads, because it's never appropriate for a writer to argue with a reviewer, but I've seen people asserting, very firmly, that I am...

Local elections a week tomorrow, the first of six waves of disaster that are going to hit the Tories.
And each one worse than the last.
However bad for the Tories the local elections are next week, the European elections three weeks after that a disaster in the face.

One of the surprisingly frustrating things about having authored PROOF OF COLLUSION is that I nightly hear TV analysts saying, of some Russia issue, "Well, what we don't know is..." The truth? About 75% of the time we *do* know what they say we don't. It's that *they* don't know.
