Monday, May 6, 2019 Mars enters Gemini. Eclipse season is here!

Mars is the planet to watch now. On the heels of a New Moon in Aries and soon to be 4 planets in a Mars commanded sign (Sun, Mercury, Venus on the 10th, and Jupiter) Eclipse season gets going hard.

Mars in Gemini May 6-June 22 ushers in eclipse season. We shift from the Pisces phase of #MutableMadness2019 to the Gemini phase.

Pisces is the instinct of intuition.
Gemini is the power of words to shape perception; words mean things.

One piece of advice for this Gemini phase of #MutableMadness2019: Use your words. Choose them carefully. Say what you mean. Mean what you say.

Speak as though you are confident that you will be misunderstood. Should you speak at all? Or, speak concisely and intelligible?

Mars in Gemini at the helm brings:

Venus in Pisces is the experience of the body as a tool of perception (instinctual knowing) challenging the conscious intentions of the will (#IntentionalWhy.)

Venus asks how willing you are to magnify the commonalities between yourself and others in order to be in relationship and participate in community. In Pisces, this willingness exemplifies empathy—feeling in your body that which doesn’t originate from your physiology.

Still, Saturn demands that we concretize our core convictions into conscious intentions which animate the will. How shall you make your life and this world a living testimony of your intentions and convictions?

Moon in Gemini wraps up its trigger of eclipse stories.

As we are properly in eclipse season we can know that every thing that has happened under this Gemini Moon relates directly to the events that make up both our collective and person Eclipse stories.

One of the major themes of this year’s eclipses in Gemini & Sagittarius is Redefining Truth. This is not about a measurable and quantifiable factuality. No, this is about transparency of intention.

The eclipses are:
January 6, 2019 (Sagittarius)
July 2, 2019 (Gemini)
July 16, 2019 (Sagittarius)
December 26, 2019 (Sagittarius)

Gemini teaches us that words are an approximation for meaning.
Sagittarius teaches that actions are an approximation for intention of the will.

Approximation implies that one medium is translated into another.
Gemini says, Words translate meaning into symbols to be understood between people.
Sagittarius says, Action translates the will into a force that imprints an image of its intention onto the world around it.

Redefining Truth, then, means that we seek to know what is implied by the words and actions of others. We struggle to determine rather it is wise to take words and actions at face value or to think critically about what we encounter.

It can be hard to know what to do. When we read too deeply into other actions and words, we can bring cognitive bias that overrides the other’s intention. But when we take things at face value, we might miss implications that drastically change the impact of words and deeds.

This is the work of #MutableMadness2019 with eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius. This is what we face every time the Amon transits the Mutable signs (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, virgo). Implicit versus explicitly.

These eclipses mean something unique for each of us. How you encounter & manage meaning & truth is personal to the placement of your Mercury & Jupiter in your natal chart, and the houses that have Gemini and Sagittarius in them.

Understanding your personal eclipse story gives you a way to articulate how your individual life is a microcosm of macrocosmic themes.

Venus enters Aries
And with that there are 4 planets in a Mars ruled sign—Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter. With Mars now in Gemini, officially having begun eclipse season on May 6, all eyes are on the red planet.

Venus in Aries is a planet in exile. Exile often means separated or far from that which is familiar, nurturing, comforting, or helpful.

If a Venus asks how willing you are to conform or adapt in order to be in relationship and community, then Venus in Aries means that autonomy, strength of will, and the capacity to act in accordance with one’s capabilities is more important then conforming and adapting.

Frequently, people with Venus in Aries in their natal chart struggle to fit in because their way of relating the does not conform to cultural expectations around what love, connection, sex, and pleasure look like according to the consensus.

Venus in Aries is at the forefront of transforming what relationships look like in society. They take the risk and show up in the most authentic way possible. They often embrace designations of queer, gender nonconforming, and a variety of sexualities and styles of relating.

Venus in Aries often appears the bears the brunt of being ostracized and rejected, feeling like confirming is a prison.

With so many planets in Mars ruled signs (Aries & Scorpio) narratives around autonomy, freedom, rebellion, conflict, and sudden change are at the forefront of all we witness at this time.

Mars in Gemini is running much of the show. Mars is not the happiest in Gemini. Its will and focus is split, sometimes distracted, other times with too many irons in the fire.

June 21/22 should be a banner day when Mars is the first planet to hit the degree of the MAJOR December 26, 2019 eclipse.

By the way, each year there is generally one of the many eclipse that year that stand out and steal the show.

But once Mars reaches the latter degrees of Gemini it will trigger several eclipse degrees from eclipses that span 2018, 2019, and 2020. That’s not till June though.

In the meantime we watch as several planets answer to Mars in Gemini, subservient to the drive for self preservation & autonomy.

The Pisces phase of #MutableMadness2019 is officially complete. Empathy, understanding, and the instinct of intuition—perceiving that which is not explicitly communicated—was the defining theme of December 2018-May 2019.

Now, in the Gemini phase, #WordsMeanThings is the narrative on deck. Words have the power to shape perception of yourself in the world around you. The language chosen to articulate any particular intention is never an accident.

Words can be used to reveal or conceal intention. The catch is that the actual meaning of words used is often a slight of hand, or in this sense a slight of tongue. Words can be used to divert the listeners ears and understanding from the truth hidden in plain sight.

*Can you identify the biases of cognition and belief that keep you from hearing or understanding what is being said?
*Can you set aside oft repeated stories and deeply held beliefs about who you are and how your life works in order to redefine the truth of your being?
