Truism: Liberalism can only exist in a high-IQ, high-trust society.

Is there a single Western society in the world where liberalism is increasing rather than decreasing?
If near to all Western nations are decreasing in trust and/or IQ due to their adherence to liberal philosophy, and liberalism depends on those two factors to persist, what is liberalism's long-term plan to survive?

More liberalism?
Once you get this, you get why modern politics is in such a shrieking fit. The model's breaking down. The left has understood this for a while. The right is only starting to.

Liberal freedom peaked before any of us were born. Now we're fighting over what comes after.

In this case I think the pathetic state of modernity is due to the fact the priest caste has completely overrun the warrior caste
In this case the "priest caste" isn't to say real Christians, but rather that moral Christian guidance has in turn been overrun by modern priests who now manifest in a perverse way as our journalists, academics, bureaucracy, etc. All the people the left worships
Original Christian priest caste was meant as a blunting edge against the warrior caste who could be too savage, too willing to run wild. You could see peak civilization as those times when the warriors and the priests were in balance with each other: both had power

While I mostly agree with this sentiment...

We make factories/corporations/PIGFARMERS control their emissions and wastewater runoff.

Corporations need to be held responsible for their trash. Not municipalities
and Yes I am headed towards the bulk bins for everyday staples when I can.

Those require a high trust society tho.
The brunt of recycling costs should fall on the producers of the trash.... (yes I know the argument, they will pass on the costs blah blah) or maybe they will package more responsibly or research efficient recycling methods

I'm going to start another uber-thread, this one on #prepping for a no-deal crash-out #brexit. The main theme is going to be that the best #BrexitSurvivalKit is a prepared community working together, not a shopping list. 1/x
This thread is inspired by a number of things. I was about to go and buy some dried food, before deciding that there would be little point. Also, for work reasons I know a bit about UK civil defence and food policy in WW2 and the lessons we can learn from this.
Most ‘Prepping’ only ever makes sense in a low-population density context. This is Great Britain. I can cycle the length of it in ten days. There is nowhere to run to: we stand or fall here.

Rather than enjoying the freedoms of life, exploring themselves as people, discovering their interests, and being a living human being...
