If Britain used the same system as, for example, Germany, with no subdivision into regions, just allocating its 70 seats according to national vote shares, the d’Hondt system would create an almost perfectly proportional outcome.
3/ And the important point is that EP elections in the Britain not only use a somewhat disproportional system, but that the system is differently disproportional across British regions.

This looks at the 2014 vote split.

Many of us have long suspected that the claim that Over 65yo delivered Brexit May be an over simplification.

This LSE study confirms that it is with the wartime generation being almost as keen on the European Project as Millennials, associating it as a movement for Peace.
The study also points out that this generation is diminishing and the findings about the beliefs of the post war generation weighted towards a more opposed view to Europe has relevance to the messages we need to work on in any comms.

There was a rejection of ambiguity in Barnsley where there as a 17.3 % swing to the LD. There was a rejection of ambiguity in Sunderland where there was a 13.4%swing to the Liberal Democrats. There was a rejection of ambiguity in Wirral where there was a 11.1% swing to the Greens
A majority of people in 96 per cent of constituencies in the north now back a people's vote. 75 per cent of Labour voters in the party’s heartlands – the north and the Midlands – now back a people's vote and 76 per cent now supporting remaining in the EU.

#ToryIslamophobia update – there have been a number of major developments today but for those not following closely, I have collated them to demonstrate the scale of the issue.
We had front pages in the Guardian and Independent referring to the scale of the issue after Baroness Warsi said the Conservative Party had an institutional problem with Islamophobia, before the Today programme and Politics Live covering the issue.

One reason why the Brexit debate is now so aggressive is because MPs like Andrea Leadsom keep saying that letting the people vote on a deal which POLITICIANS are responsible for, and which even Brexit voters hate, somehow means Remainers are calling Brexit voters stupid. #Peston
Let's say:
1⃣I hate our current relationship with the rest of the EU
2⃣I vote to end that relationship
3⃣The government negotiates a new relationship
4⃣I think it's worse than the old one
5⃣I vote to stick with the old one.
Does that make me 'stupid' or just not psychic?
