1. The NYT is making the exact same mistakes it made in 2016.

Let's review.
2. In 2016, the NYT took information from a foreign government (the Wikileaks emails stolen by Russia) and plastered them all over the front page. Dozens of stories all of which benefited Trump.
3. In 2019, the NYT is taking information from a foreign government (info about Ukraine investigations, as told by Rudy Giuliani) and plastered them all over the front page.

All these stories benefit Trump.
4. The New York Times markets itself as champions of the truth. But truth is secondary. SCOOPS come first and that's the problem. It doesn't matter where the scoops come from or whether or not they are accurate.
5. We need an alternative model of journalism that isn't based on access to people like Rudy Giuliani.

We need scoops based on tips from ordinary people and primary source documents.

You can support this alternative model by subscribing to popular.info
6. People are pointing out that this isn't really a mistake by the NYT its the business model. I agree.
7. But how much longer can we watch this slow motion train wreck play out. Democrats rely on the NYT like Republicans rely on Fox News.

As a result, Republicans and Democrats are being fed Republican talking points.
