Bennet is very naive to think Dems could have prevented McConnell from nuking the filibuster long before Kavanaugh was nominated, or during his nomination at the latest. Bennet’s approach would’ve resulted in fewer Obama judges confirmed and the same outcome for Trump/McConnell.
It’s important to remember two things: 1) Dems going nuclear on nominees in 2013 allowed Obama to get many more judges confirmed than he would’ve gotten otherwise. More here via @jeffreytoobin newyorker.com/news/daily-com…

Trump is a con man and too many Democrats make themselves easy marks by trying to wish into existence a world where Republicans still cared about anything besides pure power.
We don’t have to be like them. But we have to know who they are and not convince ourselves they’re some “West Wing” version of who we want them to be.
Trump’s nominee for AG covered up Iran-Contra and pre-judged the Mueller investigation but some Dems were like “this seems fine.” Their support for Barr enhanced his credibility with the press, making them more inclined to view his letter as credible. politico.com/story/2019/05/…

Which “her”? You suggested Warren and Harris “carve out a few days” to emulate Beto. Aside from standing on tables, they’ve been what he is doing (“go without notes”) before he got in. So what, exactly, do you think they should try to emulate and why?

There are two sides to every argument, so we can't necessarily take @JuliaAngwin's side uncritically in her firing from The Markup. On the other hand, Sue Gardner sounds like an idiot: "Myers-Brigg" is nonsense, no better than reading your horoscope.
"Attending meetings" is also nonsense in such a small organization. I was one of three founders in a company that grew to 106 people. The only "meetings" I had with my co-founders where occasional official board meetings.
In a small startup, you assign people 100% responsibility for things, you don't have meetings where you build consensus for things. For example, website design: one person is in charge, and the rest only provide occasional input. No meetings.

(1) Before we even begin to discuss the situations this bill will create, no one who claims they are pro-life should be proposing, let alone supporting, a bill that limits a patient’s access to treatment for long term pain.
(2) The entire pro-choice platform revolves around the idea that medical treatment is for the Dr and the patient. Not the government. Not the Church. Not the community. It is for the patient and their dr to decide what’s best for them. Not anyone else.

Yesterday was the 45th anniversary of the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Four girls were murdered: Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, & Carol McNair.

McNair was 11; the others were 14.
The FBI identified Thomas Blanton, Herman Cash, Robert Chambliss, and Bobby Cherry as the perpetrators, but they weren't tried for years and Cash died without having been charged. (For his part, Chambliss blamed Gary Rowe, an FBI informant.)
The perps in question were KKK -- specifically, UKA, United Klans of America, but even more specifically they were members of a small but even more radical splinter group called the Cahaba Boys.
